Service and Maintenance
The Purus service management team advises that a regularly serviced and maintained autoclave enables greater and extended performance from your steriliser.
Purus calibrate and validate all autoclaves to Australian Standards AS4815 and provide our clients with full reports.
Service repairs can be completed on site or performed at our Service Departments located in Melbourne and Sydney
Loan units are available.
AUTOCLAVE CALIBRATION / VALIDATION
Purus Health supplies Autoclave Validation and Calibration services and regardless of the make and model of your machine we are able to provide you with the certainty of an evidence based technical report that confirms your machine is working within the relevant Australian Standard so you can be sure that you are meeting your obligations around infection control.
Sterilizer standards AS/NZS 4187:2014 and AS/NZS 4815:2006
AS/NZS 4815:2006- has been prepared for office-based health care facilities that primarily reprocess reusable medical devices using moist heat (steam under pressure) and dry heat (hot air sterilization). In 2006, the Technical Committee HE-023 reviewed and republished AS/NZS 4815-2006 Office-based health care facilities – Reprocessing of reusable medical and surgical instruments and equipment, and maintenance of the associated environment.
AS/NZS 4187:2014 - has been prepared for the reprocessing of reusable medical devices in health service organisations. The objective of this Standard is to ensure that health services organisations correctly reprocess reusable medical devices so that they may be used safely without risk of transmission of infectious agents. This standard was published In December 2014.
The joint Standard was developed by Standards Australia’s Technical Committee HE-023, Processing of Medical and Surgical Instruments.
While the scope and content of the two Standards may be related, AS/NZS 4187:2014 does not supersede or replace AS/NZS 4815-2006.
Both standards are still current and depending on your needs and requirements we can offer you testing to either standard. Regardless of the standard you would like tested to both are required to be undertaken annually. If you are not sure which standard to test to give us a call and we can advise you on which one may be more relevant for your application.
Our prices for the Calibration / Validation includes gst, labour charges, call out fees along with the necessary reports, certificates and tags, chemical indicators, biological indicators. So when we quote you the price it is the price you will pay. Once you are on our register of machines you can " set and forget" as we will remind you when your next validation service is due so you never find yourself with an expired machine frantically trying to book in the cal / val.
